- The transition between both songs can be self-mixed and can contain various songs, sounds, voices etc. The transition should function as a clear distinction between cover and choreo parts
- The transition should be no more than 5 seconds in duration
- The videos must be recorded in one landscape take without any camera movements and have to be at least HD quality
- The songs and choreo used in your application can, but DO NOT HAVE TO be used in your performance at the in-person competition. After being admitted to the contest, your songs can be changed until the 07th of May

Preliminary Round
- Your performance in the preliminary round must be composed of equal parts cover dance and self choreo to a self-mixed set of 2 songs
- The maximum duration of your performance must no longer than 3:30 minutes in the solo category and 4:00 minutes in the duo and group categories
- The ratio of cover and self choreo should be approximately 50:50, a little leeway is allowed (e.g.: 45:55)
- You can start your performance with either cover or self choreo
- The transition of a maximum of 10 seconds between both songs can be self-mixed and can contain various songs, sounds, voices etc. The transition should function as a clear distinction between cover and choreo parts
- For the self choreo portion of your performance only songs WITHOUT official choreo can be used. See more below!
- Official remixes are allowed to be used
- Cutting and reorganization within the songs is allowedÂ
- Your mix can contain any genre of song and dance
- All songs by any Korean Artist and K-POP associated artists (e.g.: XG, WayV) regardless of language can be used
- Each song can occur a maximum of only 2 times in the entire contest
(This does not apply to your application, after acceptance to the in-person event it’s first come first served) - The original member count of your cover song does not matter
 Final round
- All participants will receive a 1 minute long music mix arranged by us containing one choreo and one cover song
- The mix will be the same for all participants in one category but will vary between each category. The solo category will receive a different mix from the one the group or duo categories will receive
- The mix will be sent out simultaneously to the acceptance mail so all participants will be able to prepare the final performance alongside their self chosen preliminary performance
- 5 acts of each category will move on to the finale
- The order in which the finalists will perform will be drawn by lot
Self Choreo: Definition
The choreography must be a sequence of steps composed by yourself or your coach. Comparable to the concept of a regular dance championship.
Compositions that do not adhere to this rule or have a lot of similarities to other sources (like YouTube videos) will be disqualified immediately. This can also happen retroactively.
This is especially important to maintain fairness.
Future Releases
All new music releases after being accepted to the contest will be blocked for self choreo for 1 month from the release date. Often times the choreo of B-Side tracks will be released at a later point in time, eg.: Impurities by Le Sserafim.
So our rules will be valid in such a case, we want to block all songs for self choreo that might not have a choreo yet at the time of release.
All songs with choreo can be used as a cover song right after release.
After the deadline of 1 month is up and there is no choreo yet, the previously blocked songs can be used for self choreo.
All K-Pop releases can be tracked through sites like KPOP Official.
Self Choreo: Welche Songs?
For your self choreo only songs WITHOUT an official choreography can be used.
ALL title and b-side tracks without choreo are permitted.
By our definition, an official choreography is one that has either a official performance, official fancam or dance practice that shows the choreography.
A fancam will be counted as official, if it’s released by a music or award show of KBS, SBS, MBC etc. A choreo promoted on shows like Street Woman / Street Man Fighter will also be counted as an official choreo.
- “Better” by Ateez counts as an official choreo, as an official performance as well as a dance practice with the choreographers as stand-ins for the members exists.
- “Ex” by Stray Kids is a B-side Track of which an official fancam by a music program is available that shows the entire choreo
Both those songs can thus not be used as songs for your self choreo.
B-Side tracks that are performed at the idol’s concert and of which only unofficial fancams exist, can be used for your self choreo, since those fancams are usually very shaky and / or unclear.
- Example: “Typa Girl” by Blackpink is a B-side track performed with an official choreo by Blackpink at their concerts. However, only shaky, low quality footages filmed by fans exist of this choreo, which is why you can use it as a song for your self choreo.
If you’re uncertain about your song choice, please contact the SeoulStation Dance Studio via Instagram or E-Mail.
Everything else, like our evaluation criteria and judges will be announced timely.
